From May 20 to 22, 2026, the 3rd SODa Barcamp took place at the German National Museum (GNM) in Nuremberg. Around 30 participants attended the three-day event and came together for a diverse program consisting of a total of 16 sessions.
SODa Barcamp is the network for everyone involved in data and the digitization of scholarly (university) collections.
The topics of the open-format discussion sessions ranged from LLM integration in AI for scholarship to controlled vocabularies, WikiBase modeling, and 3D object visualization, as well as provenance research and the use of multimodal AI in a collection context. Guided tours of selected areas of the GNM, as well as the concluding group dinners, provided a welcome balance to the intensive sessions.
