FAU’s Competence Center for Research Data and Information (CDI) is a central research institution that provides support to all researchers at the University and at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen with questions and tasks regarding research data management and the CRIS Research Information System.
The services developed and offered by CDI cover the entire spectrum of research data management, from advice on applications to the handling of research data during the project phase to the archiving and publication of research data records.
We are looking for staff in all areas of research data management
About the role:
- Providing advice to researchers about how to deal with research data and about research data management options
- Implementing and coordinating projects
- Analyzing and evaluating new data management solutions and providing support with their implementation
- Developing and expanding the existing portfolio of research data management infrastructure
- Application management for existing IT services
- Installation and maintenance
- Organizing and conducting training in person and online as well as workshops
- Contributing to the design of additional teaching units
About you:
You hold a Master’s degree in computer science or alternatively another subject with additional skills in the field of IT
- Enthusiasm for working with other researchers in various project related to research data management
- Technical expertise, open to new technologies
- Previous experience with (research)data management, FAIR, metadata standards, electronic lab notebooks
- Ideally also previous experience with semantic web, knowledge graphs, terminology and ontology

- Ability to work in a team
- Motivation and willingness to participate in regular training
