Research data are closely linked to metadata. Linking research data to metadata, such as publications, research projects, awards, etc is extremely useful in data management. Research data are collected at FAU in the research information system CRIS.
FAU-specific metadata, for example, how research data are handled when all participants have left FAU, are stored in CRIS (data testaments), thereby ensuring the long-term availability of the research data.
With the support of the FAU CDI, CRIS is more closely linked to the needs of researchers. Furthermore, this collaboration avoids developing another platform for managing information on research data.
