WissKI is a software which allows researchers to record data about objects (typically those of cultural heritage) in a graph database backed by a formal ontology.
WissKI is free and open source software, it is available under the terms of the GPL 2.0 license.
It provides researchers and user with an interface to view, edit and manage their objects.
There are several projects both inside and outside FAU that already make use of WissKI.

Typically, installing, configuring and maintaining a WissKI-based software system is a nontrivial amount of effort.
It requires help from a system administrator, as well as expertise in formal ontologies function.
To address this problem at FAU, CDI - the Competence Center for Research Data and Information - provides FAU-based researchers with a cloud-based solution - the FAUWissKICloud - as well as tailored guidance and support on how to use WissKI.

In this talk, we will take a look at how the FAUWissKICloud helps and enables researchers.
We will use the Schreibkalender research project as an example and have a detailed look at how to go from research data to an accessible WissKI system.
